Olivia and Adam got married at Horsebridge Station, a grade 2 listed victorian railway station in Hampshire. THIS is what I’m talking about. THIS is totally my bag and I loved every minute and every detail. From the way these two were so very cool in their preparation and how they’d carefully considered every inch of style. I loved the venue, I loved how Adam wore a bow tie, I loved the bridesmaids matching floral skirts and pink shoes, Olivia’s beautiful delicate vintage style dress and flat silvery shoes (I can’t do heels either!) The floral crown that Olivia wore was totally gorgeous and she so kindly gave me her second one that was made for back up! I can’t tell you how made up I was about that!
This venue is definitely one of my favourites so far, its just so unusual – with beautifully laid out gardens and views of distant meadows. After the ceremony which was taken by Olivia’s bridesmaid (what a great surprise that was), the acoustic guitarist strummed on the platform whilst guests sipped wine, and watched Olivia and Adam have their portraits taken by me as the new Mr & Mrs Hinge.
The Marquee just to the side of the station was decorated beautifully with brightly coloured hand made paper origami birds and hessian table cloths which all made for a stunning setting. I’ll never forget seeing the wedding cake for the first time and wondering if it was slightly leaning to one side, only to be told later that the station owners dog had escaped and nibbled a piece of the bottom layer! oops!
As the sun set over the station, creating a wonderful light for the street food vans to unpack and set up with their fairy lights, guests enjoyed what must be the best idea for evening entertainment ever. CEILIDH DANCING!! (Pro: Kay-lee) – look it up…or just look down and you’ll see how much fun that is. I put myself in a few compromising positions whilst these guys danced around me! I was lucky to come out alive.
Coffee and donuts from the street food vans were a good call for tired feet and the perfect way to end a first class day. Definitely the most ‘kooky wedding’ I’ve had the pleasure of shooting for some time.
Congratulations to Olivia & Adam and thank you for being so cool in every way! You both rocked it!
I hope you enjoy these shots, there’s rather a lot for a blog but I just couldn’t choose.
